In a ruling late Thursday, the judge presiding over Donald Trump's federal election interference case rejected his last-minute attempt to prevent the release of additional evidence collected by special counsel Jack Smith.
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan announced that on Friday, the court will make public a redacted appendix from a recent immunity motion filed by Smith, which contains new information regarding Trump's actions and those of his allies leading up to the January 6 attack on the Capitol.
In her decision, Chutkan dismissed Trump's claim that the evidence release was politically driven to sway the 2024 presidential election. SEE MORE
